Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran left the company shortly thereafter. Corcoran was one of the first Shark Tank investors. She has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts until February, 2020. Her biggest deal was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second of 10 children in a middle class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mother and a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a multi-talented worker throughout Corcoran's childhood. Her family sometimes relied on the free delivery of food from a local grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father, who was a drunk at times excessively, and behaved towards her mother with disrespect and condescendingly, especially after he'd had several drinks. Corcoran had difficulty at school and later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was a student at an area Catholic elementary school, and then began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran was proficient in a variety of classes during her freshman year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
